Classic Swan River Shoreline Wedding for Tilly and Daniel

The theme was black and white for Tilly and Daniel’s November wedding (25 November 2022), so everything was in perfect classic style. It was a stunning synergy of energy with timeless glamour, with even their dog Mr Pickles being an important part of the day.

Daniel’s pre-ceremony preparations were at his (and Tilly’s) home with his parents and groomsmen. Mr Pickles, ever so dapper in his own tuxedo, got to be included with photos as well…and nothing could also make Daniel happier than showing off the gender reveal tube they would be using at the reception to share the news of whether their unborn baby was a girl or a boy!

Tilly and her bridesmaids had a room at Crown – plenty of space for everyone to celebrate and get ready for the special day! The floor to ceiling windows provided an incredible amount of natural light for me to work with, so of course they were utilised for as many portraits as possible once the bride donned her beautiful gown and veil.

It was soon time to drive down to Nedlands Yacht Club for the ceremony, and guests had already begun to mingle by the time I’d gotten there. With the Perth city skyline and yacht club’s dock as a backdrop, their chosen spot for nuptials was the perfect venue. A beautiful triangular arch added to the creativeness of the décor, and soon enough the bridal party began to make its way down the aisle while Daniel waited nervously for his bride. Tilly’s smile…you couldn’t wipe it off her face even if you tried. She was beaming from ear-to-ear, and Daniel was in absolute awe of how stunning his bride looked.

All of their guests watched on in delight as the newlyweds said their vows, had their first kiss and signed official documents – even Mr Pickles made an appearance after the ceremony to be by their side! After photos with the classic car the bride had arrived in as well as just near the archway, the bridal shoot was done around the yacht club, with locations varying from the walls of the club (streamlined weatherboard) to a stone staircase leading down to the road and some parkland.

For a bit of difference, Tilly and Daniel’s reception was held outside the yacht club under a large weatherproof gazebo where there was a dancefloor and plenty of room to party! But as the sun began to set, I wanted to take advantage of the city skyline so got the bride and groom to go further out onto the ‘jetty’-like boulders along the Swan River for a romantic photo session of just the two of them.

And the highlight? A gender reveal with all the guests – congratulations! It’s a girl!

To Tilly and Daniel, thank you for allowing me to your photographer of choice for your wedding day. It was wonderful to share all those special moments with you and capture them for years to come. Congratulations on the little baby girl who will soon be welcomed into this world, and may you all be blessed with happiness, joy, love and laughter.
