Sleek, chic, black and white…it was an enchanting wedding day for couple Sally and Catherine who finally, after a year of postponement, got their chance to say ‘I do’ in front of those nearest and dearest to them at the stunning Noble River Estate.

Like the Yin to its Yang, Sally and Catherine were made for each other, and chose to celebrate at their most perfect destination in Dwellingup surrounded by majestic timber forest. It helped the couple bring their wedding visions to life as they prepared for the day in a chalet nestled amongst the gardens and all of nature’s offerings.

After the champagne was opened and nerves began to settle, Sally hopped into her sheer black gown, setting off fireworks with all the elaborate sparkle that shone in all directions. Catherine’s attire was the complete opposite, a polished white suit that embodied the sophistication of the couple’s wedding day, and both had large native flora for bridal bouquets – the perfection a complement to their surroundings.

After official family and friend shots, we took to individual portraits in some of the chalet’s beautiful rooms where I got to play with the lighting that was coming through the windows. The decked balcony also played well into the photos, providing a great backdrop of the forest right behind everyone, and I was thrilled with how well everyone did in front of the camera as I began capturing memories for the soon-to-be newlyweds.

And yes, you saw right! Unlike other couples, Sally and Catherine got ready for their wedding day together, making their first look more relaxed and chilled. It was also a great opportunity for them to just take in the morning and experience it as a couple with everyone close to them in the one space.

Sally and Catherine’s ceremony was held on the state’s private lake and featured an all-natural arbour arch for the nuptials. With just 55 guests attending, the wedding was a small but intimate affair, and it was great to get amongst the crowd before the couple arrived for photos. But soon enough, the bridal party began to make its way down in blues and reds, and everyone was excited to see Sally and Catherine finally come and meet at the arch.

Happiness consumed all once words began to be spoken, and tears of joy overcame Sally as the two held hands. Their ceremony was genuine and pure – you could literally feel their love for one another in the room…or the garden, perhaps might be the better term.

Following the signing of official documents and everything sealed with a kiss, Sally and Catherine were finally bonded in matrimony, and it wasn’t long before everyone started to personally congratulate them on their day with a big hug and smile.

It was time for bridal photos, and these were all taken on the estate with the gorgeous Jarrah forest in the background, lots of greenery, and of course the lake. Sally, Catherine and their bridal party were incredible in front of the camera, and we definitely had an amazing time during this shoot. Sally’s outgoing personality really came alive (what a laugh!) and Catherine began to come out of her shell. Shots were taken at a little gazebo, as well as on a local unsealed road that I think gave some amazing lines to the images. As the golden hour hit, we managed a few more private pictures without the bridal party, and then made our way to the reception hall where all the guests were waiting with anticipation to get the celebrations started!

I stayed for the speeches, which gave me plenty of time to take photos of everyone who came, and everyone’s interactions – these natural shots are important for the wedded couple because the day goes by in such a whir, that it can be difficult to take in every single conversation and every ‘congratulation’. So having these moments captured for the couple to look back on is something I thoroughly enjoy providing.

But soon, it was time to cut the cake, and before long – dancing! What a fantastic event!

Sally and Catherine, I can’t thank you enough for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day and capturing your memories so you can sit down and recollect one of the most important days of your lives. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness, and cannot wait to see where the future takes you both.
