Perth Mess Hall is the new metropolitan venue to have a wedding

Located in the heart of Perth city’s cultural district, Perth Mess Hall is an intimate yet dynamic venue for the couple who want to make their wedding day a memorable one for everyone.

With three unique function spaces to choose from, this makes it one of Perth’s most versatile venues offering one-of-a-kind packages designed for every budget and requirement.

Earlier this year, I did a styled photoshoot with Perth Mess Hall wedding coordinators to showcase what they can design for even the fussiest of bridal couples – and I have to say, what they did with the spaces available was nothing short of flawless.

And if that’s what they did for a photoshoot, imagine what they will do for your wedding!

The Drill Hall

If you’re looking to make a powerful statement, then the Drill Hall is the wedding space at Perth Mess Hall you’ve been waiting for.

With its expansive curved truss roof that creates a dynamic space, it is monumental yet charming, and has been transformed from its original use as an Australian Army dining hall to a blank canvas where you can see all your wedding day plans fall into place.

Think architectural, think timeless…think immaculate.

But space isn’t just for receptions. You can absolutely have your nuptials here too. Natural light fills the exclusive space and makes way for a lovely ambience with the Drill Hall’s high ceilings, adding to the complete privacy your event will have so you and your guests – of which you can easily have more than 300 – can enjoy the entire use of the venue.

We did two stylised shoots inside the Drill Hall to showcase the event organiser’s ability at catering to your dream wedding. Every detail, from the shine on the cutlery to the perfectly flavoured dishes, was captured with the intent of showcasing this amazing locale.

The White Room

Another clever conversion from old to new, the White Room also has a significant history like its companion the Drill Hall.

The White Room is a part of Perth Mess Hall’s function venue hire, down at Museum Street Ground Floor where it previously operated as a store as well as a place for the Australian Army’s administration of storage and distribution.

For today’s bride and groom, the venue has been transformed into a pristine, sheen white canvas that caters perfectly for small and intimate weddings and our stylised photoshoot showcases an abundance of floral and decorative ideas Perth Mess Hall wedding organisers can arrange – so whether you opt to go for bold, bright colours or classic, ageless décor the White Room is a fantastically sleek location for your special day.

The West Courtyard

Not keen for an indoor venue? That’s okay, because I took my camera outside to take photos of Perth Mess Hall’s exterior function location where brides and grooms can celebrate their day under the clouds.

It’s industrial, it’s metropolitan, it’s definitely unique…and the space is phenomenal so you can create the ultimate outdoor wedding party without leaving a single person off your guest list.

The Courtyard is for those who love delving into their creativity.

Wedding Photo Opportunities

Want a castle outlook without the cost of flying to Scotland or England? Perth Mess Hall has a beautiful castle-Esque setting for your bridal photos if you’re looking for a ‘hint of old’ captured in the background. And if you’re already feeling and looking like Cinderella, why not enhance it even more with the castle outlook?

Our photoshoot also took us out onto the street behind the State Library, and I was met with a whole lot of colour, straight angles and the city skyline – absolutely ideal for the cosmopolitan bridal party.
