Swan Valley Riverbank Estate Winery Wedding

Breathtaking Swan Valley wedding for Natasha and Luke

These two gorgeous souls were all about the fairytale details come their big day on 21 September 2019 and they sure did their dreams justice! When it came to planning their wedding, the Swan Valley’s RiverBank Estate Winery was an easy choice for Natasha and Luke thanks to its designated ceremony location overlooking vineyards – perfect for their fairytale-style day.

Arriving for the bridal party preparations at Natasha’s mother’s house, her three bridesmaids donned silky pink bathrobes and the colour really popped in front of my lens. With the champagne flowing, the family dog in a cute red bow, and the bride all ready with hair and makeup, it was time for Natasha to put on her gown and show off all the intricate details of the dress she had chosen.

There was lots of joy and laughter as the bridesmaids helped Natasha lace up the gown, secure her veil and slip on her soft pink heels. And with the final touches of fitting her dad with a boutonniere and her mum a corsage, it was time for family photos before three little baby girls came in their plush, white dresses to show off their skills as flowergirls.

Luke, on the other hand, got ready with his groomsmen at a Swan Valley AirBnB close by the estate. With some help getting his cufflinks in order, the men were ready for group photos as they relaxed and awaited the hour for the ceremony.

If ever there was a venue for a fairytale wedding, it would have to be RiverBank Estate Winery in the Swan Valley. Just north-east of the Perth CBD, the winery boasts panoramic views towards the Swan River and overlooks vineyards, with plenty of space to impress guests. Locations like this are an incredible delight for wedding photographers – there is an abundance of space to move around to get a variety of angles, and the backdrop has to be seen to be believed.

A humble, wooden arch stood ready for the couple, a gorgeous selection of red, pink, orange and yellow flowers adorning the corner of it and not taking away from the iconic Swan Valley view. The crowd of family and friends awaited the arrival of the bridal party, and were firstly greeted by the three little flowergirls as they anticipated how princess-like Natasha would look.

With the bridesmaids having done their duties, it was Natasha’s turn to walk down the aisle with her father, her smile as bright as her bouquet and Luke looking on, unable to hold his happiness in. There was so much opportunity to move through and around every person at the ceremony due to the space, so I got a large variety of angles as the loved-up couple said their vows and declared themselves to one another.

After taking some requested photos of the bridal party with all the guests, it was time for bridal photos at the ceremony location (how can you not take extra photos with the stunning Swan Valley backdrop?!) and then at Lilac Hill Park in Guildford. The vast, open space at the park provided a field of green for bridal photos, and we hit the mark with the time of day – the lighting was perfect as the sun set, we truly got that golden hour right! Besides the lighting working to my advantage, Natasha and Luke relaxed into the lens and were amazing to work with, both of them photogenic and easing into their poses naturally.

Back at RiverBank Estate, the bridal party was ready to make its entrance as guests mingled during a chilled cocktail style reception. The twilight of the early evening illuminated the venue, and everyone looked ready to enjoy the night! As the drinks flowed and the food was served, friends and family settled in to celebrate the happy couple’s nuptials and before I knew it, it was time for speeches, a couple traditional games, and everyone to hit the dance floor.

The smiles on everyone’s faces in the photos will be cherished for years to come by the newlyweds, and I wish them all the happiness the world has to offer in their future together.
